“I belong to the tribe of the world, musician from the universal culture, and I am really keen on singing some songs to cheer up your day”

Chesko Gonzalez was born in July 1979 in a small city, Velez-Malaga (Andalusia-Spain). When he was a child, he had been very interested in music, listening to his father's collection of flamenco cassettes
. But the most that he remembered was his mother's old folk songs. He was fascinated by her voice.

At the age of 18 Chesko bought his first second-hand Spanish guitar. At that moment, in company of his friends, he begun to play rock covers with a cheap electric guitar which was bought with the savings of one month's dishwasher salary. They played 90’s alternative rock for small venues and flat parties. The band  was called ‘Cosmopolitan Moon’ stood out as it lasted almost ten years. In 2012 he was part of the power trio ‘Narrma’ touring around Spain. One year later the band separated.

In 2013 he moved to Edinburgh (Scotland) where he began a new and interesting career. he started to learn World music from Latin America, Spain and all over the world, a bit of Rumba, Flamenco, Cumbia, Son Cubano, African music, Gipsy Jazz, Fado, Reggae and many more. He played as a duo with Karel Kalaf in Spanish restaurants, traditional Scottish pubs and other venues, and they even did some busking on the Royal Mile and Rose Street. Chesko Gonzalez is well recognised in Scotland for bringing Spanish music on the Scottish stage. He played with many good musicians such as Ian Thomson (drum), Sergio Bueno (guitar), Borja Señoris (bass guitar), Antón (percussions), etc.

In 2014 he moved to Vienna (Austria) for 6 months and continued playing there. Then he visited Bulgaria and played in Sofia and Plovdiv. Between 2014 and 2015 he went back to Edinburgh where he recorded the album
‘Vientos del Sur’. In the end of 2015 he moved to Spain until 2016, then he moved to Berlin (Germany) recording the album "Atsigani. Diaspora" in which the author tells about his gipsy roots. In 2017 he spent 6 months in Peru (Latin America) playing and learning Peruvian music styles.

At that moment, 2018-2020, he is based in Berlin with an extensive list of concerts behind him and a lot of enthusiasm for what's going ahead. Now he is member of the band Locomotivo touring around Germany.
